Anthonia “Toni” Imudia
Anthonia “Toni” Imudia was born in Lagos, Nigeria. She migrated to the U.S. in her early twenties where she completed both her undergraduate and graduate studies.
Prior to her law degree, she was a board-certified family nurse practitioner, an assistant professor at Columbus State University and the University of South Florida, and an adjunct professor at Nova Southeastern University. As a clinician, she assisted with establishing primary care clinics in underserved communities and helped with securing grants for the clinics while providing direct primary care services to patients. However, she retired her nursing license and nurse practitioner certification to focus on her law career.
Toni uses her broad experience in practice management, risk management and performance improvement strategies earned over the years in driving her niche legal career. She is also a trial attorney at Imudia Law, where she leverages her litigation and advocacy skills to represent her clients effectively.
Toni’s long-term relationship with her husband, Martins, a renowned immigration attorney, exposed her to the importance of defending the rights of immigrants and vulnerable populations. Furthermore, while attending law school and taking courses such as Immigration Law, Interviewing & Counseling, and Immigration Litigation & Advocacy, she developed a strong interest in Immigration Law Advocacy.
Her focus at CFUIS is in federal litigation.
In addition to her legal career, Toni understands the impact of technology and innovation in legal practice. Her passion led to the creation and launching of Otawise, a business management software. Otawise caters to legal practice and provides case management, billing, reporting, and other functionalities.
Toni loves cooking, dancing, traveling for medical missions, and exploring new cultures.
Education
Toni graduated from Stetson University College of Law with a JD/MBA degree in 2019. She had initially obtained Bachelors and Masters of Science degrees from Columbia University, New York. She also graduated with a Doctor of Nursing Practice from University of Miami in 2012.
Experience with CFUIS
Prior to joining CFUIS, Toni took a course in law office management and undertook a case study for strategic immigration practice management. Her hope is not just to add value to CFUIS management team, but to also assist clients seeking to obtain legal status in the United States. With her background in healthcare, she has an edge that will help in relating to clients who are going through stressful times in dealing with immigration issues. Moreover, her interviewing and counseling experience allows her to assist clients effectively, and to represent them using her litigation & advocacy skills.
Previous Law Experience
During her law school experience, Toni interned as a Law Clerk at Gulfcoast Legal Services within the Immigration Department.
Associations and Memberships
Toni is licensed by the Supreme Court of Florida to practice law in the state. She is a member of The Florida Bar, American Bar Association, and also a member of American Immigration Lawyers Association [Central Florida Chapter]. Toni is also admitted to several federal courts across the country.
