Anthonia “Toni” Imudia
Anthonia “Toni” Imudia was born in Lagos, Nigeria. She migrated to the U.S. in her early twenties and completed her undergraduate and graduate education in the U.S.
She is a board-certified family nurse practitioner and an adjunct assistant professor at Nova Southeastern University. However, she retired her nursing license and NP certification to focus on her new law career.
Toni has a professional history in Nursing that spans over 15 years. She has years of experience in practice management, including providing visionary leadership and performance improvement strategies for non-profit and private organizations. Her focus, amongst others, was on risk management, ethics, and professionalism.
Over the years, she assisted with establishing primary care clinics in underserved communities and helped with securing grants for the clinics while providing direct primary care services to patients.
Toni is married to Martins, a renowned Immigration Attorney. Her long-term relationship with Martins exposed her to the importance of defending the rights of immigrants and the vulnerable population. In addition, while attending law school and taking courses such as Immigration Law, Interviewing & Counseling, and Immigration Litigation & Advocacy, she developed a strong interest in Immigration Law Advocacy.
Toni loves cooking, dancing, traveling for medical missions, and exploring new cultures.
Education
Toni graduated from Stetson University College of Law with a JD/MBA degree in 2019. Before then, she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree and Master of Science degree from Columbia University in the City of New York, New York. She later attended University of Miami and graduated in 2012 with a Doctor of Nursing Practice.
Experience with the Center for U.S. Immigration Services (CFUIS)
Prior to joining CFUIS, Toni did take a course in law office management and undertook a case study for strategic immigration practice management. Her hope is not just to add value to CFUIS management team, but to also assist clients seeking to obtain legal status in the U.S. With her background as a health care provider, she has an edge that will help in relating to clients who are going through stressful times in dealing with immigration issues. Moreover, her interviewing and counseling experience allow her to assist clients effectively, and to advocate for them using her litigation & advocacy skills.
Previous law experience
During her law school experience, Toni interned as a Law Clerk at Gulfcoast Legal Services within the Immigration Department.
Associations and memberships
Toni is licensed by the Supreme Court of Florida to practice law in the state. She is a member of The Florida Bar, American Bar Association, and also a member of American Immigration Lawyers Association [Central Florida Chapter].
