Dalton J. Ervin
Dalton J. Ervin serves as an Attorney at the Center for U.S. Immigration Services (CFUIS) Tampa Office. He became interested in immigration matters during his undergraduate studies at the University of South Florida. Since he comes from West Virginia, where he had limited contact with immigrants, studying and living in Tampa exposed him to the plight of the vulnerable population. This experience spurred his interest in immigration law, and his primary goal is to help clients navigate their complex immigration issues and achieve their goal of immigrating to the U.S.
Education
Dalton earned his Doctor of Jurisprudence (J.D.) at West Virginia University Law School. Before this, he obtained his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Marketing) from the University of South Florida. During his time in law school, Dalton studied with the end goal of being an immigration attorney, focusing on internships and courses that specifically dealt with immigration law.
Previous Law Experience
Dalton worked as a legal intern providing legal assistance on immigration cases and provided pro-bono immigration services to a local public interest law firm while in law school. Additionally, he worked as a law clerk for a public defender’s office.
In his last year, Dalton participated in a clinical law program at his school that focused solely on immigration issues. He worked closely with multiple clients to file applications for relief and represent them in immigration court proceedings. His time in the clinic provided him with a deep understanding of the immigration issues people face and motivates him to zealously advocate for every client.
