Diversity Visa Lottery
Each year, the Diversity Immigrant Visa Program makes 50,000 permanent residence visas available to applicants drawn at random. To be eligible to enter this lottery, the non-U.S. citizen must be a native of a country with low rates of immigration to the United States. A list of eligible countries is published yearly as part of the Diversity Visa Lottery program.
Process
The process starts with an online application. If randomly selected, the applicant is contacted to start the immigrant visa process. It is important for the non-U.S. citizen to take the process seriously because it is time sensitive.
Requirements
Applicants must also have a high school diploma (or equivalent) or have two years of work experience within the past five years in a job that requires at least two years of training. Applicants must also submit an affidavit of support from a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident, or proof of employment in the United States.

It is essential that all paperwork is completed correctly and on time. If the visa process is not completed within the time frame allowed, you will lose your chance of receiving an immigrant visa under the program.
Each year, millions of applicants are rejected for not following the entry rules. With so much competition and little room for error, all applicants should work with an attorney. Call us today at 800-403-8117, email us, or schedule an appointment.
