The Justice Department filed a brief with the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals on March 30th 2015 urging it to reverse a hold which Texas State Judge Andrew Hanen placed on President Obama’s executive actions, expanding DACA and DAPA. April 17, 2015 has been set by the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans for hearing the matter, on whether the temporary hold on President Obama’s immigration executive actions should be lifted. Each side will have an hour to make their arguments.
Observers and legal practitioners are keeping their fingers crossed and hoping that the Justice Department will prevail in order to give way for the implementation of DACA and DAPA.
